The office joker

He laughs in the mornings, he laughs at night, he laughs while sleeping and he even laughs while taking a dump..No he is not mad to keep laughing at himself, he laughs because people around him laugh and people around him laugh. He will make fun of your boss, he will mock you, he will copy the walking style of your office receptionist and he doesn’t even spare himself... But still he is everyone’s favorite. He livens up the mood of every conversation and he would just cheer up the hearts of every person in the office. He will never be sad and never regret anything. He is the favorite of the boss and greets every one while crossing a corridor. He is never alone in the coffee room and is always surrounded by people looking for attention. No, he is not a hero, he is no handsome man but what he really is an Office Joker.

Bad-Luck and boss

Both the words start with the letter ‘B’ and hence there has to be some connection between the two. Both are unwanted but still present in our lives. These are those two things of life, everyone run away from and spend thousands of rupees on God to save them. No matter how hard and smart you try, you will never be able to escape their grip. You can never hide from them and both shower you with sleepless nights and scary days. That is not all, one leads to the other and finally it becomes like a vicious cycle where the boss causes bad-luck and the bad-luck leads to boss. Bad-luck has the word “bad” in its name and the boss doesn’t even need that to make your lives hell.

Train your Trainers

Training and learning goes hand in hand. Whether you are working in a big organization or a small start-up firm, you will always and continuously get some training on your work and other personal and social skills from skilled professional human resource personnel other trainers. And you need to realize the significance of these training programs because they definitely help you a lot. But at the same time, it also important that you even make the trainers understand your needs and expectations in a clear manner. Feedback is important everywhere and hence you should feel free to tell the trainer if the people of the organization lack in a particular trait. You can even suggest ways of making the training more useful and interesting for you and your colleagues. Hence, make use of the opportunity provided by your firm and train the trainers according to your needs and demands.

Shun the Puns

People usually have a sarcastic or a humorous side to them. And especially in a work place, you will find numerous people who would be funny in one way or the other. Such people usually use a lot of word and sentences with a hidden meaning or pun in them. They might not intend to be rude to someone but these puns can actually make things awkward for people. The person on the receiving end might not understand and take the pun in a wrong and offending way. Thus, it is important that when you are in a official and professional setting and environment, you maintain a level of sophistication and avoid any thing or word that can create controversies. You can be humorous but make sure to keep it subtle and avoid any joke that can be interpreted in a wrong way. So just shun the puns.

One more minute please

Isn’t it a daily routine that you switch off your alarm clock, keep snoozing your alarm on the cell-phone and keep asking your mother to let you sleep for just one more minute? I am sure this is true to most of the people. You might party all night long and you might not feel sleepy while watching James Bond movies on your computer the entire night. But the morning sleep is dear to all. I actually know people who would give up on even crores of rupees for just getting that one minute sleep in the morning. You know you have to get up and you know that one minute is not going to make up for the three sleepless nights, but every morning you will just find saying these words, “One More Minute Please”.
