In any form of communication, clear organization is important. The ubiquitous weakness among speakers of all class of life is the failure to organize material that will attract the attention of audience. Speakers are supposed to be such that they should have the responsibility to take their listeners from the beginning of a talk to where they should be at the end of the talk. The message should be spun with audience in mind.
Whatever it maybe, be it speech, lecture, and briefing, it needs an introduction, a body and a conclusion. The introduction and the conclusion of the material should be prepared after the body of the talk, because the material of the speech i.e., the body is the guide for the introduction and conclusion.
Here are a few guidelines that will make you the best effective communicator ever:
Organize The Main Points: this should be your first consideration, besides, sub-points also play a vital role. So arrange the main points and sub-points as you seem fit and make your speech, you will have listeners gauging at each and every word of yours.
Time: time is important in all walks of life, a second lost is huge loss to huge business companies and the same goes for speech makers. It is a must that you use the intonations, and stress at the right time to get your points across. Stress a word that plays a vital role in your speech and pause, you will easily pique the interest of listeners who will want to hear more of your speech.
Facial Expressions: having followed the first two steps, you can’t just stand there and just go on and on about what you prepared. I mean, there should be life in what you try to convey. Your verbal communication would have got your points across but it is just as important that you also use non-verbal communication to send your message across. There are hand gestures, facial expressions, so use them and like speech, you should use them at the right time since a wrong move will send out a negative message, so it is always best to be prepared.
