Spice up your communication skills

Communication skills are very important for humans where his interaction with the society is inevitable. Communication includes attentive listening, comprehension and responding aptly for desired effects. Excellent communication improves one’s rapport with colleagues, relatives and friends and ultimately makes the world a better place to live for this particular person and those who speak to him. Positive bonds with people which are formed by effective communication avert a lot of friction and bitterness.  The energy and time saved by getting things successfully communicated is also worth mention. 

For instance, parents who focus on yelling at their kids for some desired response have obsolete effect compared to parents who sit down to calmly and clearly explaining their children of what they want and why so. The mindset and the age of the person we are talking to should also be taken into account. An adolescent should be spoken to with respect that boosts his ego which is supplemented by acknowledging the budding man’s feelings. A senior citizen should be spoken to with compassion and focus to his second childhood. The listener should be given equal importance to talk, respond and his ideas should be taken into account to build the conversation into a more effective and rewarding action. 

Couples need to know more about effective communication to strengthen the bond for a lifetime. Love within couples is effectively cemented with careful and timely conversations. Good communication skills depend on strong self confidence without which nothing is possible. 

Having thorough knowledge in the subject that we would speak or write about, clear focus on the center idea without any sort of deviations, simple language sans jargons, and awareness of audience mentality, sincere words and positive attitude are few attributes which help in effective communication. 

Good conversation skills should be developed from childhood and parents should take care to sharpen the communication skills of their child because their offspring’s future interaction with the inevitable institution called society depends on good communication skills. Teachers should also take an important role in enhancing the communication abilities of each student because they are the second parents of their students.
